This week we have had a busy week of celebrations. Not only did we have a 3rd birthday to celebrate in the 2-3 room, but we also had some fun for St.Andrew's Day. Firstly on Tuesday 29th November we held a parent's evening throughout the nursery. We had a fantastic turn out and have also had some very positive feedback from the parent questionnaires. On Wednesday 30th November we held a tartan day for St.Andrew's Day. We danced to Scottish music all day and one of the parents came in to play the bagpipes for us all (although looks like two of our pre-school children didn't quite appreciate the sound of the traditional instrument). Some of the children had a go at blowing the bagpipes and could soon see that it's extremely hard work! We had made some Scottish flags and even though it was cold, a wee highland fling soon warmed us up. In the 0-2 building we had an opportunity to play with some fake snow to get us prepared for the real stuff coming. It felt just like real snow - very cold and wet. But we didn't let the cold weather stop us and continued having fun in the garden too. The children in the 2-3 room warmed up their voices to sing Happy Birthday for one of the children and thoroughly enjoyed helping her eat her birthday cake. The children in the pre-school room have been practising how to use the quiet room and are enjoying listening to a variety of stories from the staff. A very busy week was had by all and now that we are heading towards Christmas there is lots more fun to come!
